Barbara Barrett D.Pod.M., M.C.Pod

Principal podiatrist Barbara Barrett qualified from Northern College of Podiatry (now part of Salford University) in 1974. After gaining experience working with Buckinghamshire and Lancashire Health Authorities, she started the private practice in 1984 with her business partner Christine Liptrott. She has continued her professional development over the years and is a member of Lancashire Branch of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.

Jamie Wignall BSc (Hons), M.C.Pod

Jamie became an associate at the practice in 2016 after working with the practice for 3 years. Jamie was awarded the Best Final Year Student Prize, an accolade he richly deserved. He qualified with a First Class Honours Degree in Podiatry from the University of Salford. He gained experience in high-risk diabetic wound care, biomechanics and nail surgery from both Blackpool and Bridgewater Community NHS trusts. Nail surgery is a particular interest of his- as is routine podiatric care. Jamie is HCPC registered and a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. He holds local anaesthetic and prescription only medicines certificates.

George Flanagan F.C.Pod.S

George is a surgical fellow of the College of Podiatry. George trained in the UK with specialist training undertaken in the USA & Germany.  George treats a wide variety of foot and ankle problems with a special interest in musculoskeletal issues, limb salvage and non malignant neoplasm of the foot. He is a trustee and medical advisor to the British Dupuytren’s Society. George takes instruction for medico-legal reporting.

Poppy Lee BSc, M.C.Pod

Poppy Lee graduated from Salford University in 2016 with an honours degree in Podiatry. She gained valuable experience in private practice before gaining a full time post with the NHS. Poppy is part of their high risk team. She joined the practice in 2018. She has a special interest in wound care and enjoys domiciliary care for house bound patients.

Away from work she enjoys hiking in the Lake District, socialising and Game of Thrones!

Receptionists

Christine Schoonjans, Diane Webster and Karen Greenwood.

Our friendly receptionist staff will help you with any enquiries you may have. They are responsible for making appointments and dealing with administration requests. Their aim is to help in the smooth running of the practice. All information given to them is treated in confidence and they are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the Podiatrists. Senior Receptionist Christine Schoonjans is responsible for the supervision and guidance of the reception team.
